Here are some statistics about smoking and also some facts about cigarettes

Cigarettes / Tobacco:

  • Estimations show that every cigarette smoked cuts at least 5 minutes of life.
  • More than 4,000 toxic chemicals have been found in tobacco smoke
Worldwide
  • 1 in 3 of the male adult global population smokes, and most are in the developing poorer countries.
  • If is an amazing fact that every 8 seconds, someone dies from using tobacco
  • Studies show that between 1950-2000, 60 million people died from tobacco-related diseases worldwide
  • Smoking kills 1 in 10 people now, but according to current trends, it will kill 1 in 6 in a few years. (WHO Report 2003)

United Kingdom
  • British statistics show that smoking cost 12 times more death than World War II

  • 50% of teenagers currently smoking will die from cigarettes if the continue 99% of British women did not know that smoking causes cervical cancer
